Rolla Barbee, age 95, of Louisville, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at Flora Rehab & Healthcare Center.

Wally was born June 11, 1918, in Louisville, the son of Ray and Bertha Rae (Hord) Barbee. He was united in marriage on Feb. 27, 1941, in Old Monroe, Mo., to Bonnie Stanfield and to this union were two sons and one daughter.

He was employed by Fedders Inc. in Effingham as a tool and die maker for over 20 years. He also worked in the oil field and farmed. He was a faithful member of the Red Brush Christian Church and was baptized on Nov. 1, 1942. He was also a member of the Beagle Hound Association and enjoyed fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting.

Wally is survived by his wife, Bonnie Barbee; son, Ernie Barbee and wife Sally; sister, Betty Adams; grandchildren, Sherry Harrington and husband David, Lisa McKnelly and husband Darrell, Bill Holeman and Gary Barbee and wife Katie, Maria Myers and husband Dan, Laurie Bossman and husband Jim, and Brad Barbee and wife Jamie; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Bertha (Hord) Barbee; daughter, Eila Holeman; son, Ed Barbee; brothers, Donald "Bud", Vic, Jim and an infant brother; sisters, Lois Barbee, Millie Rose and Helen Wilson.

Funeral services were held at Red Brush Church.

Interment was at Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville.

Memorials to Oil Belt Christian Service Camp in Flora.

Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville.
