Harold Hyde, 78, of Valley Mills, passed away at his home on Friday, April 4, 2014. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 6, at Patton Baptist Church with the Rev. Pat Cummings officiating. Interment will be in Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 6, prior to funeral service at Patton Baptist Church.

Harold was born in rural McLennan County, Texas, to the late James Otto and Ida Mae (Ludwick) Hyde. He had served in the United States Army for four years where he was a missile launcher. He previously worked at Wolf Manufactory, R. M. Crow Manufacturing Company, and Romark where he eventually retired. He was a member of Patton Baptist Church.

Harold was preceded in death by his sisters, Burnell Jurecka and Maurin Key; brothers: J. L. Hyde, Dewey Hyde, and Roy Hyde; and a grandson, Tyler Trigg.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Hyde; son, Jay Hyde, of Hewitt; daughters, Lisa Hyde, of Mexia, and Tisha Trigg and husband, Allen, of Valley Mills; grandchildren, Karen Johnson, Austin and Ashton Hyde, Tanner and Taylor Trigg, and a very special granddaughter, Shelby Hyde; great-grandchild Trey Loper; brother, Bill Hyde and wife, Vee, of Frankston; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hyde, of Valley Mills, and Alice Hyde, of Waco; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
