GARNETTA PHYLLIS GRUBER, 82, formerly of 723 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Somerford Place. Born Nov. 12, 1924, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Carrie Rinehart Murray. Her husband, Chalmers Gruber, died July 6, 1998.
She was a member of Washington Square United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Granis Dixon of Williamsport; one son, Jeffrey Gruber of Jessup, Md.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Rose Hill Cemetery; arrangements were handled by Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown.
