John Wesley Wisely was born in Murphysboro, Illinois on September 17, 1917, a son of Leo Walter Wisely and Sarah Gertrude Gola Wisely.
He married Betty McCoy in St. Louis, Missouri on June 2, 1941.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; three sons, John Wisely, Darryl Wisely, both of Murphysboro, and the Rev. Chester Wisely of Ava; one daughter, Sherri White of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Mae Addison of De Soto, Orbie Bullar of Overland, Missouri, Rachel Dunivan of Murphysboro, and Naomi Franklin of Belleville.
Mr. Wisely died at age 68 on Saturday, January 18, 1986, at his Route 2 Murphysboro home.
