LEO WALTER WISELY DIES IN MURPHYSBORO
Leo Walter Wisely, 81, of Rt. 2, Murphysboro, died Wednesday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 20, 1885, in Vergennes, the son of John and Julia Perkins Wisely. He was married Sept. 11, 1910 to Gertrude Gola, who died July 13, 1963.
Mr. Wisely was a retired laborer. He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Laborers Union.
Mr. Wisely leaves daughters, Mrs. Mae Stewart of De Soto, Mrs. Orbie Bullar of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Rachelle Dunivan of Murphysboro and Mrs. Naomi Franklin of Belleville; a son, John of Murphysboro; 19 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; half-sisters, Mrs. Beulah Yearian of Murphysboro and Mrs. Edna Bitters of Oakland, Calif., and a half-brother, Isaac Wisely of Murphysboro.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Epworth Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Travelstead officiating. Burial will be in Tower Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Meyer-Denny Funeral Home in Murphysboro after 4 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday.
