Ms. Rulene Zelma Law Cothron born October 28, 1924 in Macon County, Tennessee, was one of three daughters born to Hicie E. Law and Tessie M. Napier Law. She departed this life on Monday, March 24, 2014 in Gallatin, Tennessee at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Rulene was employed for many years at Formfit Rogers, then Imperial Reading and finally American Greetings. She climbed the ladder as factory worker, Floor Lady and then Supervisor, retiring in 1988.
On January 27, 1944, she was united in marriage to Paul Ray Walrond in Brownwood, Texas. Paul was killed in France in World War II on July 27, 1944. To this union was born Alma Paulette Walrond Stafford on January 10, 1945.
Rulene was like most people struggling to make ends meet, during the time after the war. This was probably the reason she always made everything count. Rulene had to have wrinkles ironed out of clothing and neatness was a must. She loved to piece quilt tops when time allowed.
On December 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Earl Willard Cothron. They were married almost fifty-one years, Earl died on December 7, 2002. To this union was born Dana Kay Cothron Harp on November 17, 1963.
Besides her husbands and parents; sister, Naomi Meador and niece, Janie Doss also preceded her in death.
