Mrs. Shannon was a daughter of the late James and Margaret Feeney and was a native of Oswego.
She was born in the Third ward and always made her residence there. She was a communicant of St. Mary's church and was affiliated with the Rosary Society. Mrs. Shannon was a charter member of Oswego Court 561, Catholic Daughters of America, served as chairman of the trustees for eight years and was one of the most active workers in the court.
The unexpected passing of Mrs. Shannon was a shock to her family and friends and caused heartfelt sorrow to many. Sympathy of the sincerest nature is extended to the deeply stricken husband and family. Mrs. Shannon will be best remembered for her devotion to her home and family. She had many friends to whom she was affetionately attached, was happy in serving others and in doing deeds of genuine unobstructive charity.
Possessed of a cheerful disposition, Mrs. Shannon was beloved by many and in her passing will have the kindly rememberance of those to whom association with her was an abiding happiness.
Surviving besides her husband, who is a member of the Department of Education and active in business affairs, are two daughtrs, Miss Helen L. Shannon and Miss Katherine Shannon, Oswego; three sons, J. Edgar Shannon, Pittsburgh, Pa., Harold D. Shannon, Asbury Park, N.J., and George H. Shannon, Oswego; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Cusack, Oswego and Mrs. Margaret Willis, Rochester; and two brothers, James and M.P. Feeney, Syracuse, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements for funeral are incomplete.

The marriage of Mr. Edgar E. Shannon and Miss Nellie Feeney, two well known young people of this city, was celebrated at St. Mary's church yeterday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Mr. George Loftus was best man and Miss Mary Fennell maid of honor. Mr. and Mrs. Shannon will make their home in this city.
