Services were held July 18 from Broadmeadow United Methodist Church for Aubrey H. Rone of Manila Drive. The Rev. Raiford Wallace officiated. Rone, 86, died July 16 at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. A graduate of Ethel High School, Rone received his bachelor's degree from Delta State University and master's degree in school administration from Louisiana State University. He continued graduate work at the University of Chicago, Duke University, Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi. While at Delta State he was class president, editor of the college paper, member of Lambda Alpha Beta fraternity and dramatic and choral groups. Rone taught in several state schools. He did evaluation and psychological counseling for the state vocational division and the Veteran's Administration. He was chief of the Division of Counseling and Rehabilitation for the VA when he retired.

Survivors are his wife Evelyn Rone of Jackson; daughters Martha Evelyn Walley of Waynesboro and Mary Gwyn Toney of Douglasville, Ga.; son James H. Rone of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren Charles Christopher Walley, Faith Victorial Toney, Keila Noel Rone and Aubrey Ashton Stevenson Rone; sisters Bessie Kimbrough, Elaine Thompson, Lyda Mildred Green, all of Ethel, Gwendolyn McCullough of Jackson; and brother Ralph Rone of Ethel.

Pallbearers were Truman Ellis, Woody Ellis, George Warren, Bill Correll, Mark McCullough, Ralph Rone, H.L. Denton and Michael Hedgepeth. Honorary pallbearers were Dick Robinson, Steve Yeager, Cecil Ellis, Paul Vanlandingham, Mike Gamblin, Bill Gunn, Grady McCool, Hugo Newcomb, Jim Spencer, Monroe Stewart, Bob i Burke, Tom Ellis, John Phelps, I Armour Idom, Bernard Schaeffer, Wes Posey, James Steele and Billy Beard.

Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park.
