Henry E. Godby, age 91, of Portage, IN, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Portage, IN. He was born on April 8, 1918 in Hopewell, VA to the late Henry A. and Georgia (Sykes) Godby, who preceded him in death. He was married to Amy (Brockett) Godby. Henry is survived by his sons: Benny A. Godby of Portage, Steven N. (Annette) Godby of Henry, NE and Walter D. (Cathy) Godby of Portage; daughters: Ruth E. Pierce of Fish Lake, Judith D. (Glen) McCammon of Portage, Regina S. Dehnart of Portage and Jan C. (Steven) Seabolt of Portage; "Adopted Daughter", Joanie Neubaum of Portage; daughter- in-law, Helen Godby; brother, Osprey Godbey of OH; sister, Georgia Lewis of KY; 25 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Amy; son, Loren E. Godby; parents; brother, Perle Godby; and sister, Loraine Baugh. Henry was a faithful member of Grace Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years and worked as an Expediter for the American Bridge Company prior to retirement. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 5360 Clem Road, Portage, IN with Rev. Mark Hostetler officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage, IN.
