In Staffordshire he worked as a china packer. He married Annie Harrison April 18, 1897, in Wellington, Staffordshire, England. They were parents of two children, Ann and Harold. He immigrated to Canada arriving September 5, 1903, with his final destination as London, Ontario, and he lived in this area the remainder of his life. At the time of his death, Arthur was a gasoline station proprietor in Lambeth, Ontario.
