Verda M. Price, 87, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 15, 2014.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Vega United Methodist Church with David Bonnell, pastor, and Jim Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Verda was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Wichita, Kan., to Calvin and Iva Mathes. She graduated from Vega High School. She married Odel Price on Aug. 16, 1944, in Vega. She loved caring for her husband of 69 years and visits with her children. Verda also enjoyed feeding the birds in her neighborhood and watching cooking shows. Her focus was family and supporting our military in their endeavors. She supported her children and grandchildren in their careers. She promoted strong family ties with parties and holidays. She ensured everyone in the family had what they needed in life.

Survivors include her husband, Odel Price of Amarillo; a son, Doyle Price and wife Becky of Amarillo; four daughters, Delores A. Price, Denita Reyna and husband Michael, and Deann Harmon and husband Dale, all of Amarillo and Dana Lojewski and husband Steve of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; six great-grand
children; and a great-great- grandchild.
