Mrs. Christine Caldwell Stuman, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 due to lung failure after an extended illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Stuman was born in Graham, Alabama on August 17, 1929 to the late Henry Marshall and Idell Mitchell Gosdin. At the age of 14, she started working at Bowdon Hospital with Dr. Jubal Watts. She later received her nurse's license. She was a nurse for almost 65 years. Besides Bowdon Hospital, she worked at Tanner, DeKalb General and other hospitals and nursing homes in the Atlanta area.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and her family was very important to her. You could be having a bad day and she would come around and before you knew it, she would have you smiling and laughing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lester Stuman Jr; her son, Jimmy Steve Caldwell; her daughter, Rita Diane Caldwell; her grandsons, James Anthony Wren II and Mathew Carter; her brother, Alwes Henry Gosdin and her sisters, Betty Gene Yates, Shirley Temple Shartzer and FayLue Nell Gosdin.
