Luís was born in Socorro, NM on April 17, 1944, to Felipe and María Gonzáles Anaya.
Luís graduated from Socorro High School where he was a very good athlete. Luís loved watching baseball and basketball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Luís worked for New Tech at White Sands Missile Range and retired after 40 years of service. Luís was a devoted family man with a big heart and always had a smile on his face.
Luís will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Luís was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Valentin "Tiny" Anaya, sister, Lucaria Vega and sister-in-law, Lena Anaya.
Luis is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elsie Montoya Anaya, his devoted children, Lisa Valles and her husband, Willie, Catherine Anaya and her companion, Joey and Nicolas Morales Jr. and his companion, Tanya, brothers, Paul Anaya, Narciso Anaya, Phillip Anaya and his wife, Roaslie, Gilbert Anaya and his wife, Pricilla and Leroy Anaya and his wife, Frances, sisters, Annie Anaya and Debbie Paul and her husband, Charles, grandchildren, Tyler and Jared Lam, Felipe Valles, and Nico and Syenna Morales, brother-in-law, Carlos Vega, sister-in-law, Yvonne Anaya and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Holy Rosary will be recited on Monday, March 17, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church with Celebrant Father Andrew Pavlak. Burial will take place at the Lemitar Cemetery following service. Pallbearers will be Tyler Lam, Jared Lam, Enrique Vega, Carlos Vega, Manuel Anaya Jr. and Paul Anaya Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Anaya, Narciso Anaya, Phillip Anaya, Gilbert Anaya, Leroy Anaya, Richard Gallegos Jr., Felipe Valles, Henry Beasley, Adam Gallegos, Willie Thais, Steve Argabright and all of Luís's nieces and nephews.
