The son of Charles "Carl" Bader and Kathrina "Kate" Benz, "Louis" was born and raised near Kampsville in Calhoun County, Illinois. He lived in Kansas for a year, but returned to Calhoun County after that.

Louis suffered from a long illness. At the time of his death, he was 25 years, 7 months and 4 days old.

He was survived by his parents; 2 brothers, Charles and George; and 5 sisters, Mary, Emma, Theresa, Katie and Fannie.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister. He never married.

Obituary:

Alouis J. [sic], son of Charles and Kate Bader, was born near Kampsville, Ill. Feb. 8, 1879 and departed this life at the home place Wednesday, September 7, 1904 at 7:39 p.m. having attained the age of 25 years, 6 months and 29 days.

His life was spent in Calhoun, with the exception of one year, which was spent in Kansas, and the remainder has been lived near Kampsville. He was a member of Council No. 47 M. P. L. of Hamburg.

His illness dates back for perhaps one year, and there was no hope for him for some time past. He leaves the aged father and mother, two brothers, and five sisters. A brother and sister preceded him to the grave.
