Deloris Faye Allen Lear Myers was born June 23, 1932, in Callao, MO, to Ross Monroe & Lester Frances Grimshaw Allen and spent her childhood and teenage years in Macon County, MO. On December 12, 1949, she married Wallace Lear in Salem, Arkansas. It was at that time they chose to make Mexico their home as they raised their four children. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1989. On March 30, 1995, she married Orvin Chester Myers who preceded her in death on July 11, 2012. Deloris departed this world for Heaven on March 15, 2014, at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, MO, after a brief illness.
In addition to her family, she loved cooking, gardening, taking care of her plants, crocheting, and quilting. She was employed with Mexico Public Schools in food service & retired from there in 1984.
She is survived by her children: Roscoe (Dorothy) Lear of Auxvasse, Beverly Jo (Rick) May of Mexico, Judy (Greg) Bryson of Mexico, Terry (Mark) Bailey of Benton City, and one stepdaughter, Sarah (Charles) Shoaf of Columbia, MO; 9 grandchildren, George, Evelyn, Robyn, Aaron, Ryan, Justin, Kaylee, Nichole, & Andrea; 2 step grandchildren, Jeff & Jennifer; and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Marjorie Wright, of Macon, MO, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and eleven siblings.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 19, at 1:00 at Eastlawn Cemetery in Mexico. Visitation will be at Arnold Funeral Home from 11:00 until the time of the service. Rev. Charles Legg will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or The American Lung or Heart Associations.
