Mrs. Strother was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Huckaby, Texas. She owned and operated Malcolm's Shoe Repair and Parker Square Shoe Repair before she retired.
She moved to Wichita Falls from Fort Worth 63 years ago. She was a Protestant and a member of First Christian Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a former member of the Woman's Forum, the 1934 Study Club and the Altrusa Club. Mrs. Strother was also a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship at First Christian Church and she volunteered her time between the Wichita Mental Health Association and Meals on Wheels. She was also a counselor at Interfaith Ministries and taught in the Adult Literacy Program. She married Malcolm Strother on Nov. 12, 1940, in Wichita Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 30, 1966, and a daughter, Ann Robinson-O'Brien.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Majewski and her husband Eddie of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Boyd Moon of Peyton, Colo., and Dub Moon and his wife Jodie of Munday, Texas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
