Jane Majewski, 70, passed away Monday, March 10th, 2014 in Wichita Falls. Visitation will be held from 6-7 pm Wednesday, March 12th at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 13th, 2014 at First Christian Church, 3701 Taft Blvd, with Dr. David Hartman officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Jane was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 26th, 1944 to Malcolm and Doris Strother. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1962 and attended Midwestern State University where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She was preceded in death by her only sister, Ann Robinson O'Brien.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Eddie Majewski, daughters Lori Gordon of Ft. Worth, TX and Leann Wright of Wichita Falls, TX and family members Bob and Christy Gantt of College Station, TX, Dallas and Angie Nunn of New Braunfels, TX, and Marty and Tammy Majewski of Wichita Falls, TX. Jane has 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She is also survived by her loving cat "Miss Kitty."
Jane retired from PPG in 1999. Previously, she worked for the Wichita Falls Probation Department. Her passions in life were music, volunteering, babies and animals. Jane was a long-time volunteer for Meals on Wheels and also volunteered at Hospice of Wichita Falls. There was not a baby in public that she did not approach and give love to. She enjoyed traveling and had great opportunities to walk the Great Wall of China, cruise the Yangtze River, climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and tour the Vatican, to name a few of her adventures. She also enjoyed annual family trips to Hawaii. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
