Mrs. August Schleicher
MILLVILLE, Minn. (Special) - Mrs. August C. Schleicher, 93, Millville, died Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Rushford, Minn., after an illness of two weeks.
The former Lousie Eggenberger was born July 26, 1872, at Theilman, Minn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Eggenberger. She was married to Mr. Schleicher at Wabasha, Minn., March 3, 1891. The couple lived in Wisconsin until 1892 when they moved to Millville, where Mr. Schleicher founded the funeral home now in its third generation of family management.
Mrs. Schleicher was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Millville, and its only surviving charter member. She was a former member of the church's Womens Guild and a past president of the Wabasha County Federation of Women's Clubs.
Survivors: One son, August R., Millville; two daughters, Mrs. E. C. (Barbara) McNulty, Waterstown, S. D., and Mrs. Leonard (Louise) Rollins, Weaver, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Her husband died Dec. 27, 1936, and a daughter died in 1959. Six sisters and four brothers have also died.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at her church in Millville, Rev. Douglas Ostlund, Eyota, officiating. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schleicher Funeral Home all day Friday and Saturday until 11 a.m. and at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.
