Son of Wade Hampton and Charlotte (poss Parker) Slatton, they lived Hawkins co TN, Campbell co TN, Bradley co TN, Polk co TN, Dade co GA and DeKalb co AL.

Born ca 1836 in TN (prob Campbell co or Polk co), it is unclear whether he enlisted in Marion co TN or Montgomery AL, but he was in Co D of the 6th AL Inf, CSA, captured (for the second time) at Shellmound, Marion Co, TN (probably at or near his home) and sent to Louisville KY, where he surrendered and was released, conditional upon remaining "north of the Ohio River."

He married Mary Smith Hoard May 10 1865, she first mar James Hoard who died in Union Army, she later married Andrew Barclay (Barkley) and Harrison Ashby.

Pension of widow has deposition stating that it is thought that he was buried at Enon Cemetery (now Chambers) in Gibson County. There may not be a stone for him, however, since a very complete image survey of all extant stones has been done.

Brothers:
George Wiley Slaten (Union)
John Slatton (Union)
Wade Hampton (Union)
William Henry Harrison Slatton (CSA)

Some of his first cousins by an uncle John Slatton are in Emison Mill Cemetery in Scott co KY and Lexington Cem in Fayette co KY.
