Buddy Dean Hansen

Our beloved brother, uncle, friend and "Hero" Buddy Dean Hansen, 54, returned home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 in Logan, after a courageous 20 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Bud was born on Nov. 27, 1949 to Delbert C. and Dolly Jenkins Hansen of Garden City.

Bud was active in many sports while growing up. He loved roller skating, ice skating, tennis, racquetball and playing softball. While growing up he was deemed one of the fastest and best raspberry pickers in Garden City. Bud loved to go deer hunting with his brothers and sister. He loved the time they spent together, as much as he enjoyed the hunt. He had a sense of humor, that was hard to beat. Bud had several different jobs during his life, working until the M.S. made it impossible to continue.

Bud spent two years in the United States Navy, spending most of his time in Hawaii and Japan with a tour in Vietnam. Bud was a kind and giving soul. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He spent 8 years of his life in the Sunshine Terrace. Bud fought a good fight and is a "Hero" to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Rodney, a sister-in-law, Marilyn, a brother-in-law, Art and a great-niece Shaelyn. He is survived by a very special aunt, Rula Hansen of Garden City, a special uncle and aunt, Lavarr and Lavaun Hansen of Riverdale, Utah, an an uncle, Roy Hansen of Ogden. Also surviving are four brothers and three sisters, Delmoine (Colleen) Hansen of Paris, Marlene Hess of Cokeville, Beverly (Art) Rufi of Evanston, Dennis (Marsha) Hansen of Mountain View, Wyo., Vern (Jo) Hansen of Layton, Utah, Huck (Jana) Hansen of Smithfield and Deb Hansen of Logan, and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Bud you will be greatly missed, but you will always be in our hearts. We love you so much. Bud would telll everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, "Remember me with smiles and laughter, for that is how I will remember you." In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sunshine Terrace in Bud's name. Sunshine Terrace, 225 North 200 West, Logan, Utah, 84321

Graveside services were held Feb. 21, 2004 in the Garden City Cemetery with a military tribute by the American Legion. Arrangements were by Allen-Hall Mortuary.
