In the death of Mr. Edward Creegan, of Midland Junction, who died yesterday morning at 7 o’clock, as announced in The Times yesterday evening, after a long illness from a complication of diseases, the community sustains the loss of an honest citizen and a man faithful and devoted to his home. Mr. Creegan was taken to the Allegany Hospital in Cumberland for treatment August 20 and remained there until last Tuesday evening when he was taken to his home. Mr. Creegan was born in the Broadtop region of Pennsylvania July 17, 1857. He moved to this vicinity from Vale Summitt in 1873 and one year later suffered with the loss of a limb while working in the old Miller mine, after which he attended the old Midland school, passed the teachers examination and taught school at different places in this county for five years. He then accepted a position as agent for the Georges Creek and Cumberland Railroad at Midland Junction, which position he held for 30 years up to time of his death. Mr. Creegan is survived by a wife, who was a daughter of the late Jas. Simpson, of Midland Junction, and the following children Mrs. Patrick J. Burns, of Gilmore, and Catherine Dolly, Edward. Francis, Jerome, John and Bernard, at home. He is also survived by the following sisters and brothers : Mrs. William Dye, of Westernport; Mrs. John Devine, of Midland Junction; James, of Kansas; Terrence, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Peter ,of Cumberland, Md., and Patrick and Michael of this place. The funeral will take place Friday morning with a requiem high mass at 9 o’clock at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will be made in Belvedere Cemetery, Midland.
