Mr. Shelby Dock Aycock of Fitzgerald died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Fitzgerald Nursing Home. He was 83.
Mr. Aycock was born February 3, 1917, in Gordon, the son of Johnny Mack Aycock and Josie Elnora Wood Aycock. He was a member and deacon at Prospect Baptist Church of Ben Hill County.
A retired farmer, Mr. Aycock had lived in Ben Hill County most of his life. He was a former resident of Irwin County and was a former employee of Bibb Manufacturing in Macon. He was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by two son, Herman and Kenneth Aycock and a daughter, Judy Aycock.
Survivors include his wife, Louisa M. Aycock of Fitzgerald; his son, Ronny M. Aycock of Fitzgerald; two daughters, Josie A. Holibaugh and Lota Faye Kite, both of Fitzgerald; two brothers, Clinton Aycock of Warner Robins and Ben Aycock of Alapaha; one sister, Mary Myers of Hawkinsville; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services were held at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel and interment was held at Ocilla Cemetery.
Paulk Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
