Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Plan Golden Wedding Celebration

A family reunion will be combined with a Golden Wedding celebration on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Gilbert of Farrell. Present for the occasion will be their ten children, many close relatives, and numerous friends who are cordially invited to call during the afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert were married on Oct. 2, 1916, in Memphis while "taking in" the annual Mid-South Fair.

They have lived in Farrell all their married life; and their home is on the same farm where Mrs. Gilbert, the former Miss Mary Allie Maupin, was born and reared.

The Gilbert's present home, built in 1938, is on the same spot of the original Maupin residence.

Swelling the Golden Wedding celebration crowd will be the couple's ten children and their families, including 32 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom are expected for the anniversary dinner Sunday.

The children (five sons and five daughters) are O. P. Gilbert and Mrs. David Vaughan, both of Clarksdale; J. A. Gilbert and A. L. Gilbert, both of Farrell; Mrs. C. E. Nell, Mrs. Ray Davis and Jimmy L. Gilbert, all of Memphis; W. E. Gilbert of Chester, Ill.; Mrs. Gene Belenchia of Shelby, Miss.; and Mrs. G. C. Goff of Dallas, Tex.

Callaham of Covington, La., Mrs. Henry Irvin [correction: Erwin] of Mathiston, Miss., and Mrs. J. C. Albritton of Farrell; and Mrs. Gilbert's brothers, J. C. Maupin of Farrell, A. E.
