Katherine Marie Davis
(September 1, 1931 - February 23, 2014)

Katherine Marie Davis daughter of the late Eva Stroup Chitwood and William Wayne Chitwood was born at Blair's Creek, in Shannon County, Missouri, on September 1, 1931. She went to meet Jesus on February 23, 2014, at the age of 82.

Kathy was very active in her church community at River of Life where she was a member of the Women's Group volunteering countless hours to help whenever and wherever she could make a difference. Kathy was always energetic and hardworking throughout her entire life whether waiting tables, working in factories, selling makeup or lawn mowers at the Powers Mower Shop ILO Powers Motor Store she owned and operated for many years in St. Louis, MO, before eventually retiring and returning to her hometown of Ellington. Kathy especially enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, county music, singing, playing cards, cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She always had a warm smile, pleasant disposition and complaining was never an option for her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, James Chester Harper and James R. Davis, one infant son, Larry D. Harper, five brothers, Renis, Tince, Ott, Jesse and Alvin Chitwood, and three sisters, Iva Randolph, Martha Hart and Gladys Bailey.

Kathy is survived by three sons, Gerald (Sue) Harper of Ellington, MO, Ronnie (Jan) Harper of Summersville, MO, Mike Harper of Centerville, four daughters, Carolyn (Bob) Schmidt of New Melle, MO, Brenda Harper of Kansas City, MO, Sheila (Dan) Middleton of Macon, MO, Debbie (Mark) Perry of St. Louis, MO, 28 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, and her loving companion of 20 years, George D. Cocoran of Ellington, MO. Kathy will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation: Monday, February 24th 6 to 8 PM at McSpadden Funeral Home

Funeral Services: Tuesday, February, 25th at 1 PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, MO

Minister: Marvin Richards

Burial: Corridon-Reynolds Cemetery

Pallbearers: Benji Harper, Greg Belcher, Brad Lambert, Korey Harper, Ty Middleton, Michael Harper, Jack Perry and Austin Boyland.
