Gerald Wayne Harper Sr. son of the late Catherine Marie Chitwood Harper and James Chester Harper was born in Ellington, Missouri, on May 21, 1948. He departed this life at his residence in Ellington, Missouri, on April 8, 2023, at the age of 74.

On February 28, 1970, in Ellington, Missouri, Gerald was united in marriage to Sue Clinton. Gerald was a member of the First Assembly of God in Ellington; Gerald and Sue pastored for 20 plus years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Viet Nam. Gerald enjoyed fishing, hunting, gigging, watching TV, boat racing, riding horses, riding side by side's and rattling his empty cup. Gerald loved spending time with his family and friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Larry Dewayne Harper.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Sue Harper of Ellington, Missouri, his son, Gerald Wayne Harper Jr. (Benji) and wife Kelly of Ellington, Missouri, his daughter, Alicia Baker and husband Zach of Ellington, Missouri, special daughter, Tina Avery Bond and husband Jeremy of Potosi, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Austin Boyland, Korey Harper, Abbi Harper, Tasha McMurry, Michael McMurry, Shawna McMurry, Josh McMurry, Stella Baker and Carter Baker, three great-grandchildren, Mila Ruddicks, Case McMurry and Alana McMurry, two brothers, Ronnie Harper and wife Jan of Summersville, Missouri, Mike Harper of Centerville, Missouri, four sisters, Carolyn Schmidt of Wright City, Missouri, Brenda Warren and husband Gary of Ellington, Missouri, Sheila Middleton and husband Danny of Macon, Missouri, Debbie Perry and husband Mark of Kirkwood, Missouri and special caregiver, Breann Sherwood. Gerald will also be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will mourn his passing.



Visitation: Tuesday, April 11th from 4 PM to 8 PM at McSpadden Funeral Home

Funeral Services: Wednesday, April 12th at 1 PM

Burial: Polk Memorial

Music: Geraldine Rains, Roberta Cook and the Widger's
