Markwood Slipher, 77, native of this community, died in the Cook County hospital, Chicago, early Thursday. The son of Clark and Hannah App Slipher, he was married to Hortense Storms, who died in 1943.

Survivors include two sons, Ross of Chicago and Glendale of Rossville; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Yost of West Lafayette and Mrs. Marie Ricker of Frankfort; a sister, Mrs. Laura Lowman of this place, and seven brothers: V. M. and Earl Slipher, Flagstaff, Ariz.; John Slipher, Columbus, Ohio; Elmer, of near Zionsville, and Jay D., Edward and Claude of near Frankfort. A daughter, Mrs. Clint Mohler, preceded him in death.

Private funeral services will be held in the Goodwin funeral home, Frankfort, at 1:30 p. m. Saturday. Friends may call there after 2 p. m. today.
