A State Highway-Department, truck was found upside down in a water-filled ditch yesterday with the bodies two men inside the cab. The coroner ruled that Virgil Burton, 45, of Push, an Obion County village, and Earl E. Lancaster of near Union City died of accidental drowning. Sheriff Ebb Gwaltney said the truck was upside down in about a foot of water. The cause of the accident was unknown. Both men were highway department employes. . .

Lewis Edward Lancaster, now with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific area, was recently promoted to petty officer. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lancaster of Somerville and entered service in June, 1941. Another son, Richard E. Lancaster, has been promoted to corporal at North Camp Hood, Texas, and awared a medal for expert rifle shooting. Corp. Lancaster was at home a few weeks ago on furlough.
