MARSHALL WILT
SWANTON — Marshall F. “Monk” Wilt, 82, of 11667 Savage River Road, Swanton, passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 12, 1924, in Merrill, he was the son of the late Thomas Olin and Lucinda Catherine (Broadwater) Wilt.
Mr. Wilt was a retired farmer. He had a great love for horses. He also worked as a coal truck driver, and had worked at Glen L. Martin Aircraft Manufacturers.
He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Philippines during World War II, with 1st Battalion, 158th Infantry.
He leaves behind his wife, Lavona “Bonnie” (Broadwater) Wilt; one son, Marshall Tom Wilt and wife Jean of LaVale; two daughters, Ivalou Connor and husband Robert of Lonaconing, and Carol Ann Willis and husband Danny of Rawlings. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joseph Connor and wife Tina, Shelley Snyder and husband Jerry, and Shane Connor and wife Mandi; eight great-grandchildren, J.R., Shanda, Kaitlyn and Justin Connor, Jeremy and Jessica Snyder, Chase and Seth Connor; and one step great-grandchild, Emily Arrowood.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Tony Wilburn officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
