He was born June 21, 1922, in Shamrock. He attended high school in Hartley County. He moved to Idalou from Crosbyton in 1989. He married Foy Mae Tucker on Dec. 25, 1942, in Amarillo.
He was a retired ranch manager. He worked for Furr Ranch from 1959 to 1981. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and served in World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of Lubbock Sunset Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Arthur of Paducah; a daughter, Charlotte Butler of Post; two sisters, Mattie Lee Seal of Dimmitt and Opal Baker of Hartley; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
