Memorial services for Mrs. Mattie Lee Seale, age 95, of Lindale, Texas and formerly of Dimmitt, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church Lindale with Rev. Paul Keithly officiating. Funeral services in Dimmitt are as follows: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church Dimmitt with interment to follow in the Castro County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday evening at the Colonial Funeral Home, 809 Butler Blvd., Dimmitt, Texas 79027.
Mrs. Seale died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at a Lindale nursing center. She was born in Wheeler County, Texas on March 21, 1918 to the late William Posey and Anna Lee (Wardlaw) Seago. Prior to moving to Lindale, Texas in 2000, Mrs. Seale lived in the Shamrock Community until she was 10 years old when she then moved to Dimmitt, Texas where she resided for 54 years. Mrs. Seale previously owned and operated a florist shop and was a member of Wesleyan Service Guild (aka United Methodist Women), Red Hatters Club, Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and past PTA president in Dimmitt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. O. Seale in 1992 and by 5 brothers.
Mrs. Seale is survived by 2 sons & daughters-in-law, David & Jacque Seale of Lindale, Texas and Jerral & Susan Seale of Lindale, Texas; sister, Opal Baker of Kyle, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Seale, Adam Ridgley, Josh Seale, Joe Seale, Olin Seago and Bob Seago.
Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Avenue, Waco, Texas 76708.
