Lola was the third of six children born to Rachel Alice Weeks Alger and Fidel Alger, probably in the Mount Pleasant area of Whiteside County, Illinois. On 20 Nov 1889, at the age of 20, she married William George Tallett (1858-1939) in Clinton, Clinton County. Iowa. Lola and her husband had five children: Harry Earl Tallett (1895-1949), Mary Emma "Emma" Tallett (1897-1982), Lola Jean Tallett (1900-1993), Lucille Katherine Tallett (1902-1998), James Frederick Tallett (1903-1984) She resided in Clinton until her death in 1917.
Lola was buried in Oakland Cemetery. Her daughter, Lucille Katherine Tallett Bahnsen is also buried in Oakland Cemetery with her husband, Frederick "Fritz" August Sonke Bahnsen.
