Frederick Keith Armstead, 81, of Elkview went to be with the Lord February 10, 2014 in Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.

Fred was a WWII Army Veteran and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Sigmon Armstead; and brother, Ray Armstead Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are loving companion, Sue A. Armstead at home; son, Michael Edens of Elkview; daughter, Jill Chapman (Tim) of Clendenin; sisters, Mildred Lyons, Ollie W. Price, Mary Etta Smith, Janice Spencer, Kay Boggs and Ruth Kincaid; brothers, Warren, Calvin, Paul and Charles W. Armstead; grandchildren, Kendra, Jonsen, Mallori and Adison; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 14, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Chaplain Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.

A gathering of family and friends will be two hours before the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to HospiceCare for their wonderful care of Fred.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV 25387.
