He was born July 7, 1933, in Crossville, the son of the late Albert Carlos "A.C." Whittenburg and Ada Mae (Neal) Whittenburg
Mr. Whittenburg was retired from Volunteer Electric Company and was a member of Claysville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his son, Mervyn Whittenburg (Sally) of Murfreesboro; daughters, Gwen Houston of Crossville, Andrea Petty (Mike) of Dickson and Kylene Wyatt (Eddie) of Crossville; brothers, Bob Whittenburg of Auburn, AL, J.D. Whittenburg of Crossville and Floyd Whittenburg of Nashville; sister, Wanda Whittenburg of Crossville; friend, Fran Burgess of Crossville; four grandchildren, Kyle, Holly, Mitchell and Anna Claire; and five great-grandchildren, Lizzie, Slater, Jaxson, Maddox and McCall
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Rose Whittenburg; grandson, Ben Wyatt; brothers, Glen Whittenburg and Lloyd Whittenburg; sisters, Linnie Lucille Whittenburg, Dorothy Neal, Orothy Bumbalough, Audrey Spriggs, Christine Thompson, Shirley Stewart and Jean Chastain.
