GAFFNEY- Marjorie Blanton Hamilton, 82, passed away Friday January 31, 2014 at her residence. A native of Cleveland county, she was born May 23, 1931, daughter of the late Cliffton and Cora Jane Royster Blanton. She was a member of Boiling Springs United Methodist Church, she loved football and making quilts by hand. She had lifetime seats to all the Crest home games and she and her husband were awarded "Fans of the Year" in 1982. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her family very much.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Earl Hamilton; and fourteen siblings.

SURVIVED: She is survived by one son, Russell Hamilton and wife Michelle of Boiling Springs; three daughters, Teresa Hamrick and husband Scott of Gaffney, Cheryl Cogdell of Boiling Springs, Monty Hamilton of the home; five grandchildren, Clint Bridges, Brandy Truelove and husband Travis, Kira and Courtney Hamilton, and Kenneth Cogdell; four great grandchildren, Melaina and Lane Truelove, Chase and Kayleigh Bridges; special friends, Buzz Biggerstaff and Bob Hunt.


SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Monday at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friend 6-8:30 pm Sunday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 2227 Boiling Springs Hwy. Gaffney

CLERGY: Rev. Teresa Blanton and Dr. Paul Sorrells.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
