Ruby M. Goodwin, 97, of 2408 Chatten Drive died at 3:50 am Thursday (Sept. 14, 2006) in her home. She was born Jan. 12, 1909, in Stillwater, Okla., a daughter of Chancellor William and Julia May Wolfe Brower. On June 5, 1927, she married James O. Goodwin in Philadelphia, MO. He died Oct. 30, 1997. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Oneta Crandall and her husband, Robert, of Quincy and Mary Jones and Her husband, Robert, of Etowah, NC; a grandson, Geoffrey Jones of Mauldin, SC; a granddaughter, Suzette Renee Morgan and her husband, Robert of Penrose, NC; a nephew, Richard D. Wood, whom she raised from his early childhood, and his wife, Rosemary; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Raymond and Earl Brower; and two sisters, Irene Redmon and Myrtle Wood. Services will be conducted at 2 pm Monday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral HOme by the Rev. L. D. Grant. Burial will be in Bethany Baptist Cemetery near Philadelphia. Visitation will be from noon until the services Monday in the funeral home.
