E. Marguerite "Rita" Childers, 81, of Clarksville, died January 29, 2014. She was born on October 31, 1932, to the late Pearl Adams. In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Adams and Paul Adams.
Rita is survived by her husband, Kenneth Childers; two sons, Steve Childers of Clarksville and Mike Childers and wife, Deborah, of Raleigh, North Carolina; a sister, Frances Clayborn of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Chris Childers and wife, Megan, of Coal Hill; Candice Young and husband, Jeff, of Discovery Bay, California, Shannon Gergens and husband, Aaron, of Longmont, Colorado and Kristen Lentz and husband, Clint, of Aberdeen, North Carolina; ten great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Rita's funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2014, at Woodland Baptist Church, with Rev. Free Clower officiating. Burial will follow in Lamar Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Childers, Mike Childers, James Childers, Chris Childers, Norm Clayborn and Jeff Young.
