Genell was born May 28, 1920 in Flora to Walter F. and Mary (Jones) Corry. She married Dale "Bill" Farmer on January 23, 1939 in Morganfield, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1979.
Genell had worked at the Flora IGA store starting in the 1950's. For many years she was a member of New Zion Tennessee General Baptist Church and later the First Southern Baptist Church in Flora. Genell took great pride in keeping a neat and clean home, loved tending to her flowers, and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and making delicious pies.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary (Ron) King; a sister: Betty Devore; four grandchildren: Steven (Nancy) Farmer, Brian (Connie) Farmer, Karla King, Angie (Mark) Ellerbeck; six great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son (Richard "Dick" Farmer), and a brother (Don Corry).
The funeral service for Genell Farmer was held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with interment following in Russell Cemetery, Rinard.
