DUCHESNE, Duchesne County, July 4 - Mrs. Martha Hannah Simmons, 83, Garfield, died Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hannah Simmons. Death was atributed to causes incident to age.
Born in Spanish Fork Aug. 27, 1863, she was a daughter of William and Ann Davis Warner.
She had lived in Spanish Fork until moving to Garfield 20 years ago. She was believed to be the oldest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Relief Society in Garfield.
She was married to William Riley Simmons in the Manti LDS Temple in 1884. Mr. Simmons died in 1905.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by four daughters and one son, Mrs. Heber C. Peterson and Maurice Simmons, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Paul Siders, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Elmer E. Matthew, Garfield and Mrs. Simmons; one sister. Mrs. Emma W. Evans, Spanish Fork and 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Spanish Fork First LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at 2350 E. 13th South, Salt Lake City, until Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. and at the chapel Wednesday from noon until time of services. Burial will be in Spanish Fork Cemetery.
