Mr. Clarence Delbert Hamilton, Sr., age 88, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on September 8, 1925 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late, Ned F. and Sophia E. Hunter Hamilton. He resided most all of his life in Madison and attended school here. Delbert was inducted into the United States Army on November 11, 1943 at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. He served in the 453rd Amph Truck Company, 518th QM Group during World War II. He fought in the battles and campaigns of Rome Arno, Rhineland & Central Europe. He was honorably discharged on November 21, 1945 in France with the rank of Private First Class. He received the Bronze Service Star Campaign Rome Arno; the Bronze Service Star Campaign Rhineland; the Bronze Service Star Campaign Central Europe; the Good Conduct Medal and the Distinguished Unit Badge. Delbert was united in marriage on Sept. 27, 1971 in Volga, South Dakota to Alpha May Layton. This happy union was blessed with forty years of marriage until Alpha May's death on April 11, 2011. Delbert was a truck driver for twenty years for Indiana Heavy and Specialized Carriers. He then enjoyed driving the DAV Van as a volunteer for ten years. Delbert was a life member of Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion, Madison VFW Post 1969; and the Disabled American Veterans. Delbert was of the protestant faith and enjoyed painting pictures, helping people and being with his family. Delbert died on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 2:01 p.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY
Delbert will be missed by his loving son, William Paul Craig and his wife, Jan of Dupont, Indiana; his loving son, Clarence Delbert Hamilton, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Milton, Kentucky; his loving daughters, Alfrieda Kay Reynolds and her husband, Curtis of Madison, Indiana, Cynthia Dawn Kietzman and her husband, Charlie of Madison, Indiana; 21-grandchildren, 27-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ned F. and Sophia E. Hunter Hamilton; his wife of forty years, Alpha May Layton Hamilton died, April 11, 2011; his son, David K. Craig died, July 20, 2010; half brother, John L. Shaffer.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 17, 2014, at 2:00 pm, by Pastor Troy Hedges at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery,1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may call Friday from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.

MILITARY HONORS
Madison VFW Post 1969 will conduct services on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. A final salute will be conducted on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion. Full military honors will be conducted at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Chapel, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison.
