Mrs. Andrew J. Craig
A prominent resident Mrs. Andrew Craig of Pakenham for the past 53 years passed away quietly at Carleton Place  Hospital on April 16, 1968 after a short illness.
Mrs. Craig was born Evelyn Lula Baird at Kinburn, Ontario on June 19, 1895.  The daughter of the late John B. Baird and Ida Groves.  She was married to Andrew Craig of Fitzroy Harbour on September 15, 1915 and settled on the twelfth line of Pakenham until 1947 when they moved to Pakenham village where she resided until her death.
Left to mourn her loss is her husband Andrew at Pakenham, and four sons namely Lloyd, William, Mervyn and Eldon all of Ottawa.  Mrs. Craig also leaves a brother John G. Baird of Ottawa and Mrs. Charles Ennis (Irene) of Fallbrook.  A sister, Mrs. Roy Needham (Aleta) predeceased her in 1959.  There are also nine grandchildren.
Mrs. Craig was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, United Church Women and Women's Institute. The funeral was held from Kennedy's Funeral Home, Carp, on April 18, 1968 and burial at Pakenham United Cemetery, Rev. Davis conducted the service with Dr. A. D. Waite, McLeod-Stewarton, United Church, Ottawa, assisting at the ceremony.  Members of the church choir assisted in the service. Pallbearers were Theron, Robert and Daryl Craig, Gerald Baird, R. J. Baird and Dalton Baird.
