Leland Alexander
Union City ---- Leland "Pete" Alexander, 73, 325 Loden Drive, died Friday, Nov. 11 at Randolph Nursing Home following an extended illness.
He was born in Saratoga, Ind., the son of the late Joseph (this should be Harley) and Ida Harshman Alexander. He worked at Crete Elevator, and also at Maul Brothers in Winchester, retiring in 1979. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Union City Eagles Lodge No. 2790, American Legion Post 158 of Union City, and a life member of VFW Lodge at Greenville, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Eileen Cox Alexander; one son, Terry Alexander of Union City, Ohio; two sisters, Opal Hall of Dunkirk, and Helen Long of Hollansburg, Ohio. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, Leo, Joe and Lawrence Alexander, and one sister Florence Alexander.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov 14 at Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, Ind., with the Rev. Francis Crotinger officiating. Burial will be in Spartanburg Cemetery with military services. Friends may call from 5 to 8 today, Nov 13 at the funeral home where Eagles Lodge of Sorrow service is at 8 p.m.
