Donald Humphreys, son of John and Anna Roderick Humphreys was born on a farm South of Wymore, Gage County, Nebraska. He attended Pleasant View, District 81 country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Wymore High School in May 1933. Donald was the youngest of three children and was not interested in farming so after graduating from high school he worked several different jobs. Donald married Bertretta Mayes in May of 1935 and they moved to Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, to this union one daughter was born. Donald worked at Lincoln Steel Corporation where he became the top salesman for the company. He left the company in 1976 due to failing health. Donald knew his grandfather immigrated to America from Wales and became interested in searching his ancestry. He was a member of the St. Davids Welsh Society of Lincoln, Nebraska and served as secretary/treasurer.
