Charles Percival Bell, the eldest son of William M. Bell and the former Lenora Orion Doney, was born December 10th 1858 in the Longview area of Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. Charles P. had seven half brother & sisters and six brother & sisters. His father was a well-known member of the early families in Starkville.

As a young man, Charles helped his father run a large farm and Cotton gin business, not marrying until he was 36 years old. In 1894, Charles married Bessie Edmonds with whom he had three children.

Charles worked as a State Farm Commissioner for the area around Starkville. He departed this life on February 8th 1923 at the age of 64 years, 1 month and 29 days old.
