W.M. Rayburn Dies Near Bonham
Father of Congressman Sam Rayburn Will Be Buried Today
Bonham, Texas , Oct. 30 – William Rayburn, died at 8:25 tonight at the family home three miles west of Bonham after an illness of several months. He was 76 years of age, being born in Roane County , Tennessee Oct. 23, 1840. He was married to Miss Waller in Roane County , Tennessee in 1887, locating at Windom, Fannin County .
Mr. Rayburn was an ex-Confederate soldier and was a Captain in the Second Tennessee Cavalry. He is survived by his wife and nine children: Fr. J.F. Rayburn, Tom, Sam and Miss Lucinda of Bonham; Richard of Detroit, Jim of Dodd City; Will of Houston and Mrs. W.A. Thomas and ? E. Battley of Dallas .
The burial will take place tomorrow afternoon at Willow Wild Cemetery in this City. (Dallas Morning News, Tuesday, October 31, 1916 sd)
