Roy E. Hensley, 78, of Honeysuckle Lane, Chuckey, died Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Hensley retired after 25 years as an electrician with Indiana-Michigan Power Co.
He attended Liberty Free Will Baptist Church as long as his health permitted.
Survivors include: five sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Melinda Hensley and Steven Lee Hensley, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Roy Eugene and Veronica Bernice Ramsey of Harrogate; Brian Hensley; and David Roy Hensley; two daughters: JoAnn Howard and Patricia Jo Stevens, both of Fort Wayne; a number of grandchildren and one granddaughter-in-law, including: Michael E. Hensley II of Fort Wayne, Sherrie Hicks of Midway, Brian Osban, Amber Craig, and Jimmy J. Craig, all of Harrogate; and Brandi Stevens, Timothy and Michele Laur, and Jennifer Laur, all of Fort Wayne; his great-grandchildren: Samantha and Jasmine Hicks of Midway; a sister: Sophie Copp of New Castle, Ind.; a brother and sister-in-law: Clay and Mar Belle Hensley of Chuckey; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Nell Foster of Washington County.
He was preceded in death by his parents: the Rev. Fransco and Ella Hensley; three brothers: Warren Frank Hensley, Chester Hensley and Neal Hensley; and three sisters: Flora Lamons, Ora Snipes and Shirley Hensley.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. today until the funeral at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Kiser Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jerry Hopson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Gethsemane United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael E. Hensley II, Timothy Laur, Anthony Roberts, Michael Hensley, Roy Eugene Ramsey and Josh Hicks.
An honorary pallbearer will be Robert Hensley.
