Shirley F. Hensley, 72, of Shelton Mission Road in Greeneville, died Thursday afternoon at her home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Hensley was a former employee of Magnavox.

"She faithfully attended Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother who loved her church and helping others," her family stated.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Robert Hensley; two daughters and one son-in-law: Priscilla Freeman of Greeneville and Pam and Bill Walters of Greeneville; her grandchildren and their spouses: Holly and Andrew Holt of Chuckey, Chad and Misty Walters of Greeneville, Ashley Dearstone of Chuckey, and Carrie and Daniel Lloyd of Weber City, Va.; her great-granddaughter: Megan Holt; one sister: Sophie Copp of New Castle, Ind.; three brothers and one sister-in-law: Clay and Mary Belle Hensley of Chuckey, Roy Hensley of Chuckey, and Warren Hensley of Van Buren, Ind.; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Barney and Eliza Hensley, Shirley Darnell, and Edna Faye Ricker, all of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews; a special friend of the family: Timmy Thompson of Chuckey; and two special caregivers: Trish Mayo and Kerry Holt, with Adventa Hospice.

She was preceded in death her parents, the Rev. Fransco and Ella Hensley; two sisters: Ora Snipes and Flora Lamons; and three brothers: Frank Hensley, Neela Hensley, and Chester Hensley.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Union Chapel FWB Church. The Rev. Lynn Neas and the Rev. Jeff Blake will officiate.

Interment will follow in Greystone Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Burgess, Jimmy Cox, Dustin Cox, Eric Hensley, Duane Hensley, Chris Bishop, Micky Hensley, and Amos
Hensley.
