Haskell retired from Tennessee Eastman Company in 1971 after a 40 year career in the chemical division. He then continued farming in the Indian Springs Community, where he raised cattle for over 80 years. Haskell was a member of The New Haven Lutheran Church until it closed and then the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served on several committees over the years. He was a long-time committee member and strong supporter of the Roller Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by parents, James E. and Martha Ann Wine Harr. Wives, Minnie Barger Harr, Ruth Barger Harr and Lochiel Moody Harr. Brothers, Henry David Harr, Grady Harr and James Robert Harr. Sisters, Sarah Tomlinson, Hazel Simerly, Justine Netherland and Lenora Wood.
Step-son, Ed Barger and step-daughter, Delores Arant.
Surviving are brothers, John Harr and Charles Harr both of Kingsport. Sisters, Pauline Templeton and Lola Mae Haney, both of Blountville. Step-children, Carl Barger and wife Nancy, Nelson Barger and wife Valery, Rita Stone and husband Charles and Phyllis Horton. Step-daughter-in-law, Eula Barger Pendleton. Sister-in-law, Catherine Harr. Nieces and nephews, Helen Steadman and husband Bill, Aileen Runion and husband Tom, Harold Wayne Harr, Janice Snyder, Virginia Harr and husband Dale, Kyle Tomlinson and wife Nancy, Patricia Lux and husband Anthony, James W. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 6-8 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jenny Venable and Reverend Gale Flanary. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Wayne Harr, Harold Lee Harr, Lynn Feagins, Donald Haney, Gary Haney, Douglas Harr, James W. Harr and Eugene Harr.
