Mary Black Dead At 84

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Black, 84, 509 Snake River Ave., died of cancer Thursday at a Los Angeles hospital. She had been visiting a son, Charles E. Black, at Baldwin Park, Calif.

Mrs. Black was born Feb. 10, 1873, in Illinois, and had married John H. Black at Leland Feb. 9, 1890. Mr. Black died in 1950.

They had lived at Gifford from 1896 until 1943, when they moved to Lewiston. She was a member of the Lewiston Rebekah Lodge and the Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by another son, John W. Black, Spokane, and three daughters, Mrs. George Kurks, Spokane, Mrs. C. F. Lindsey, Roseburg, Ore., and Mrs. Ila Hodge, Colfax. Funeral arrangements will be in charge of Brower-Wann Funeral Home.
