Mrs. Ellen Inez Blythe Burkheardt, 84, of Huntersville, NC, died on Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Avante at Charlotte. Mrs. Burkheardt was born April 16, 1919, in Mecklenburg County, NC. She was the daughter of the late James Lloyd and Mary Elizabeth Barkley Blythe, and married to the late Austin E. Burkheardt. Mrs. Burkheardt was a life-long member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, a graduate of Long Creek High School, and a member of the Eastern Star (Long Creek Lodge) for fifty years. Mrs. Burkheardt will be remembered as a kind and loving mother.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary (Penny) B. Brett and husband Scott of Huntersville, NC and Martha B. Hefner of Charlotte, NC, sister, Katherine Mullis of Huntersville, NC and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at St. Marks Episcopal Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
