Tomasa Acosta, 76, of Kansas City, KS, passed away, Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Mrs. Acosta was born in Horton, KS. She worked as a seamstress for Jostens. She is survived by her husband, Josué Acosta, Sr.; a son, Josué Acosta, Jr. of Lenexa, KS; daughters, Carmen (Dan) Phelps of Topeka, KS and Sara Acosta of Guilford, CT; a sister, Camilla Howley of Topeka, KS; 4 grandchildren, Valerie (Ahren) Alcala, Matthew Phelps, Cory (April) Phelps, and Christy Phelps and 5 great grandchildren, Kaley Phelps, Gavin Phelps, Marshall Knisal, Evan Knisal, and Ella Knisal.

Visitation and Funeral Mass

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday at the Amos Family Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6 p.m.
